VACANCY: DE MONTFORT UNIVERSITY NIGERIA IN-COUNTRY REPRESENTATIVE NOV 2016

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a target-driven, motivated and well-organised candidate to represent De Montfort University (DMU) Leicester, UK in Lagos, Nigeria.
The successful candidate will be based in the UKEAS Ikeja office. He/she will work closely with UKEAS staff across Nigeria and DMU International Office staff to meet ambitious enrolment targets for Nigerian students at DMU for January and September 2017.

Fixed six-month term with possible opportunity for progression to a permanent contract.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Reporting to the Regional Manager for Africa & Middle East and working closely with UK based staff, this position will focus on recruitment to DMU programmes and managing the University’s marketing profile and brand in Nigeria across marketing communications channels. A summary of responsibilities is as follows:
Meeting with potential applicants in order to counsel and guide them towards enrolment at DMU
Meeting with DMU agents and other partners in order to build relationships and ensure DMU is effectively marketed to their clients.
Attendance at recruitment exhibitions, representation of DMU on exhibition stands.
Conversion of current applicants via telephone and face-to-face meetings.
Regular visits to cities outside of Lagos. Visits to agent offices, educational institutions; participation in admissions seminars held at hotels and other venues.
Contribution to DMU marketing strategy and organisation of marketing and advertising activity in Nigeria.
Delivery of expert visa advice and counselling for all Nigerian DMU applicants applying for UK visas.
Input and expert advice with regards to DMU’s strategy in Nigeria.
Possible travel to countries outside of Nigeria for recruitment events or training, including UK.

KEY QUALITIES AND EXPERIENCE:

Significant experience related to the UK Higher Education sector
Evidence of working within a target-driven environment
Knowledge of marketing for the UK Higher Education sector within Nigeria
Experience and ability in providing market intelligence in order to guide recruitment activities
Knowledge of UK educational qualifications and their Nigeria equivalencies
Knowledge and experience of visa counselling for UK Tier 4 visa applicants
Experience of report -writing and statistical analysis
Excellent customer service skills,experience working within a customer -facing role
Takes initiatives and works independently/within a team when required
Highly organised,can manage a number of different tasks simultaneously
Can work under pressure when required
Excellent communication skills, can build positive relationships with people of a variety of different ages and levels of authority
Can influence and persuade at all levels

Full international passport,ability and willingness to travel outside of Nigeria including to UK .
