Government to Finish Fire Service Recruitment by June 15

The Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubumi Tunji-Ojo, told applicants waiting for the results that the final list of successful people would be out on that date.

Dr. Tunji-Ojo, through the board secretary, Ja’afaru Ahmed, shared this at the end of their meeting with heads of the services they oversee.

Ahmed also told reporters that they looked at and took action on 118 cases against officers from the services and applied the right discipline.

He shared that from the 118 cases, the Correctional Service had 48 cases, the Immigration Service had 21, the Civil Defence Corps had 37, and the fire service had 12 cases. The punishments ranged from being let go on psychiatric grounds to demotions and dismissals.

He also talked about other topics they covered like the review and approval of updated guidelines for hiring, promotion, discipline, and general use.
