About Loughborough University

Loughborough University’s roots date back to 1909, and we’ve welcomed students from Nigeria for 70+ years to our campus. Our original strengths were Engineering and Sciences, but Loughborough has since excelled in Business, Accounting, Digital Technologies, Computer Science and Security Studies. Now, Loughborough is ranked comfortably within the top ten of UK Universities, as well as consistently being shown to top the ratings for Student Experience and Employability.
Set within 433 acres, 1.15 hours from London, 20 mins from Nottingham, 10 mins from Leicester, our Loughborough campus offers one year work placements as an integral part of all undergraduate degree programmes. Our MBA is a two-year programme which includes an internship. These work placement opportunities are typically paid, and also lead to a professional qualification in addition to your degree.
Our London campus is six minutes from central London and is located on the site of the Olympic Park. The postgraduate programmes on this campus offer students the chance of a three-month internship as they complete their dissertation report.
Partnered with Bentley since 1910, and hosting Rolls Royce on campus, Loughborough has exceptional links with industry, from PWC to Boeing. Our course content is designed in consultation with industry to ensure you appeal to future employers and we have many alumni who have returned to senior roles in Nigeria.
Finally, Loughborough is ranked Globally 1st in Sports – if we had been a country, we would have finished 17th on the Olympics medal table in 2016! The best part? The Sports facilities are available to everyone, whether you are an elite athlete or just a passionate player. Loughborough University is a friendly, practical, and active environment – feel free to contact us to hear more!
