The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) is looking for passionate humanitarians to join their team in Nigeria. The Positions:

1. Protection Field Officer 1

  • Duties and Responsibilities:
    • Analyzes the security, socioeconomic, cultural, and political environment relevant to the ICRC and reports any changes.
    • Contributes to the design and implementation of projects to protect people affected by conflict and violence.
    • Monitors the situation of displaced people and provides them with assistance.
    • Builds relationships with local authorities to ensure the safety and well-being of civilians.

2. Protection of Family Links Field Officer 2

  • Duties and Responsibilities:
    • Reunites families separated by conflict or violence.
    • Registers missing people, follows up on leads, and facilitates communication between family members.
    • Provides support and assistance to vulnerable people, such as unaccompanied children.
    • Documents human rights abuses and violations.

3. Health Field Officer 2 (Fixed-Term Contract)

  • Duties and Responsibilities:
    • Supports community health programs in northeastern Nigeria.
    • Works with local partners to deliver healthcare services, such as promotive and preventive healthcare, and communicable disease control.
    • Monitors and reports on the progress of community health programs.
    • Trains community health volunteers and ensures they provide quality care.
    • Identifies training needs and implements training programs for health workers.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (law, humanitarian affairs, health sciences)
  • 3-5 years of experience
  • Fluency in English and Hausa
  • Knowledge of Nigerian culture and humanitarian context
